Guidance Areas

Guidance provided here offers practical direction for meeting these expectations in a variety of contexts and will continue to expand over time.

Title II of the ADA solidifies the importance of digital accessibility and requires that all websites, apps, documents and course materials meet WCAG 2.1 AA standards by April 26, 2027, shifting accessibility to a proactive requirement.

Texas A&M University is committed to providing an accessible digital learning environment that supports full participation by all members of the Aggie community. Course content is expected to meet digital accessibility standards.

Texas A&M University websites and online content are required to meet digital accessibility standards under ADA Title II and state law. This requirement applies to web pages, documents, and media used to support University programs, services, and activities. Some older content may qualify as archived web content and may not need to be updated for accessibility — but only if it meets specific requirements.

Students play an important role in ensuring that communications, meetings, and shared materials are accessible to everyone, especially when acting on behalf of sanctioned university organizations.
